Obsidian Dish

Description

This hand-crafted clay ceramic bowl has a deep black obsidian glaze, with two blue brushstrokes inside that catch the light. Each of my pieces is a unique work of art, hand-made and lovingly shaped and glazed, so there will be a few imperfections.

The creation process:
1. I personally threw the piece on a potter’s wheel.
2. After drying for 2-3 days, I trimmed excess clay off of the piece.
3. After the piece completely dried to the bone-dry stage, it was bisque fired in the kiln.
4. The piece was washed, then glazed.
5. The piece was fired in the kiln for a second time at cone 6.
6. It makes its way (hopefully) to your home! 🙂
