Crimson Lidded Container

Description

This hand-crafted ceramic lidded jar has a beautiful crimson colored glaze and a bubble design around the piece, making it easy to pick up. Each of my pieces is a unique work of art, hand-made and lovingly shaped and glazed, so there will be a few imperfections. Perfect for containing your small knick-knacks, jewelry, change, or whatever you want!

The creation process:
1. I personally threw the piece and lid on a potter’s wheel.
2. After drying for 2-3 days, I trimmed excess clay off of the piece.
3. I attached the knob to the top of the lid.
4. After the piece completely dried to the bone-dry stage, it was bisque fired in the kiln.
5. The piece was washed, then glazed with a clear glaze.
6. The piece was fired in the kiln for a second time at cone 6.
7. It makes its way (hopefully) to your home! 🙂
